A bit about me and how I got here...

A biiiig, warm HELLO to you!
My name is Sharnelle but, everyone calls me Sharnz 😊

My yoga journey began in my teenage years in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. Back then, yoga was virtually unknown in my community and my love affair with yoga was sparked when I discovered an intriguing book on the subject during one of my weekly visits to the library. The practice offered support & provided sanctuary in ways I couldn’t fully comprehend at the time.

Yoga has been a steadfast companion through various stages of my life, helping me connect deeply with my body and be more present. It was particularly transformative during the COVID-19 lockdown. Confined to a tiny apartment, I found solace and sanity through yoga, which allowed me to escape the physical limitations of my environment and explore the boundless expanse of my inner world. Those challenging times brought a surprising sense of gratitude and growth, as I discovered new depths of inner peace and resilience.

Completing a 200-hour certification with Wellness Connection profoundly deepened my knowledge and intensified my love for yoga in ways I never imagined. Teaching yoga has further enriched my learning journey and, discovering a sense of community and connection through teaching yoga has fast-paced my own evolution and growth. Through teaching, I’ve learned that the more I know, the more there is still to learn.

My Yoga Journey (So Far...)

For me, yoga is more than execution of asanas (postures/poses)—it’s a way of life, a practice of surrender and humility, embodying the true essence of the Humble Warrior. This pose, and the philosophy behind it, inspires me to approach life with an open heart, embracing my vulnerabilities while staying grounded in strength.

I strive to bring a sense of authenticity to every class. I encourage my students to come as they are—embracing their unique bodies, shapes, and levels of experience. I believe Yoga is about meeting yourself exactly where you are, a way to cultivate self-love, and express gratitude for your body, which serves as a beautiful vessel for experiencing the world.

Please join me in celebrating the journey inward. Let’s discover strength, humility, and boundless potential together. Let’s embark on this path of self-discovery, growth, and connection as a community, intentionally embracing each moment with grace and gratitude.
